As shopping centres become an increasingly popular holiday destination for families, AKROPOLE Alfa continues the tradition and announces a two-day Family Festival this weekend – on 18 and 19 October. During the festival, families with children and everyone interested will have the opportunity to participate in an extensive and free programme featuring various educational and creative activities, as well as musical performances and incredible surprises from illusionists.
“After last year’s Family Festival, we received very good feedback and interest from our visitors. That’s why, just before the start of the autumn school break, we are organising this event again so that while the weather outside isn’t the best, you can enjoy fun indoor games with your children. Keeping up with the latest trends in recreation and leisure activities, we have supplemented the festival programme with several educational activities that will encourage young minds to think outside the box in a fun and creative way, giving families the opportunity to spend quality time together,” says Kaspars Beitiņš, CEO of SIA Akropole Latvija.
A rich festival programme with Bing and Sula
In the central square of AKROPOLE Alfa, near the information centre, musician Annija Putniņa will invite festival visitors to enjoy an entertaining programme featuring the characters Bing and Sula, magic tricks by the illusionist Valdemārs Weiss, Zīļuks theatre’s performance of The Town Musicians of Bremen and the puppet theatre’s performance, The Dream Ship, as well as participate in scientific experiments together with Zili brīnumi. Meanwhile, the Baltic Kids Models agency, in collaboration with the BABOCHKA children’s modelling school, will introduce the latest trends in children’s fashion at a children’s fashion show. On both days of the festival DJ Edgars Bercis will set the musical atmosphere and the festival programme will be filled with various musical surprises, dance performances, and competitions.
A range of exciting activities for children of all ages will take place throughout the shopping and entertainment centre, such as a giant fishing game, virtual reality games, a car racetrack called “Who’s Faster?”, a little strongman competition, geometric competitions, a “Three-Point Shooter” basketball wall, a creative workshop called “Golden Autumn Kingdom”, a treasure hunt, a vertical maze, a Lego wall, and, of course, children will be able to transform into their favourite characters at face painting stations.
By participating in activities, children will be able to collect stamps – by collecting at least ten, they will have the opportunity to receive a prize from shopping centre stores and service providers, such as Stenders, XS Rotaļlietas, Flying Tiger, Kidzone, Toy’s Planet, Čili Pizza, Cinamon, and others.
The AKROPOLE Alfa Family Festival will take place on 18 and 19 October from 12:00 to 19:00 on all three floors of the shopping centre. All activities will be available to visitors for free. More about the festival and detailed programme:
